  I have not been to a New Year party since i was in my youth. I remember all the hanging around waiting for that twelve 0.clock to come round, men throwing back the pints of beer. The highlight being a yard of ale the lads competed to drink as fast as they could as it splashed all over the floor.

 People seem to forget one thing when they talk of Jesus as though he was any other man pretending to be some thing better. This man left his spirit in this world to beheld by any one who takes it,this man lived on for three thousand years and is alive today in the minds and hearts of many people out there some of them famous who will tell you how there lives have been changed by him and how they will never forget that however long they live. Me for one. His spirit lives on.

  Well we have had the highs and the lows of Christmas day. A bit like expecting a volcanic eruption only nothing happens.

  Christmas used to be so different. My mum would spend hours weeks infact preparing. She would make Christmas puddings that were boiled on the stove for hours and a Christmas cake with louds of exciting things in it and just before she put it in the oven to cook i would make a wish.

An irish girl friend called Tricia the only one who would open her door late at night to me if i was in trouble none of my middle class english friends would do that and i would never ask them to.

Flowers to remind us of warm sunny days to come. Today is dark and dull here in Uk and so depressing. The mornings are so dark its like getting up in the middle of the night.  Birds are fighting over the food put out for them and seeing it of sharpish.

  I fill a bird stand with food and put a peanut bar out ,the only thing to look at at this time of year outside is the birds. Have to say we have a lovely lot of coloured birds worth encouraging..  

  Familys in the Uk are still suffering from the summer floods. many are still living in caravans outside there homes whilst work is carried out.

  We dont appreciate the loyalty our pets show us. They dont ask much,water,food,walk,fuss,to be part of the family. They often deserve better in life than they get from us. I was fourteen when i went to train to work with animals at weekends, since then i have had horses,goats,rabbits, exotic cats,birds,big and small dogs, i love em all.

  The last time troops marched the streets here in the Uk hardly any one turned up to greet them. This time pride was restored in 0xfordshire when a thousand people at least filled the streets. They watched as the 3rd logistics support regiment marched through the streets, people cheered the troops and clapped as they returned from six months in Iraq.

  It as only taken about sixty years but at last land girls from the second world war are to be honoured. Its a laugh when you think how we keep being told to be careful who we give information to. Recently Tony Blair said that he did not speak out about his christian faith because people would think he was soft.
